Our mornings with Piper continue to be my favorite. She still sleeps almost everyday until exactly 7:00. She now just rolls around and plays with her lovey (and specifically the tag on the lovey) when she wakes up instead of crying. It's so nice to go get a smiley baby in the morning. On Sept 26, Piper got back in the bed with Daddy to watch the Ryder Cup before he left for boys weekend.
Yes, boys weekend. Which meant that Piper and I got a weekend to ourselves. ESPN's Gameday came to Columbia on Saturday morning. They set up in the Horseshoe on campus so Piper and I decided to walk up there to see all of the action. She slept the majority of the time, but seems to have enjoyed it.
Grant's mom, Gigi, came to get Piper and keep her Saturday night so that I could go to the USC football game with my girl friends.
These days, Piper loves to eat. She enjoys picking up food to eat it (as opposed to the typical baby food). She is still spoon-fed the majority of the time, but I try to make sure that we allow her to pick up food and eat it herself too. She loves these puffs...and the yogurt bites, And the crackers. Actually, this girl loves anything that is considered food. She has yet to turn her nose up at anything. She has a large appetite which means she now has some large thighs. Oh well. She'll be walking soon and can work that off!
On Saturday, October 4th Piper and I took a road trip to Greenville to visit with Jessica Carfolite Williams and her 2 little kids, Marshall and Emerson, and Brannon Jones Arnold and her daughter, Reagan. We were brave and rode with Caroline, Collins, Graham, and Thomas. Yes, 4 kids under the age of 3. We are crazy, we know it. It was so fun. It wasn't quiet, but it was fun. Loved the challenge, but loved being able to sit and ride with Caroline and catch up on life. These days, those times are few and far between. Jennifer and her son Anderson also drove to Greenville and met us at Brannon's parents house. It was such a fabulous day!
We went to the pumpkin patch on October 6th. It was a gorgeous Fall day in SC. And by Fall I mean temperatures in the 90's and it was HOT. I love a pumpkin patch (and I understand this isn't really a pumpkin patch, but it's right around the corner from our house) and it makes the cutest back drop for some updated family pictures!
We love you so much, sweet Piper. You are our little 'punkin' (and sometimes I shorten that to 'punk' and that makes me laugh. You are so far from a punk). I hope you know how much you are loved. You are constantly on the go so your snuggles don't happen often, but when they do, I try to sit and just soak them up. I love watching you grow older and do new things daily. You make me so happy. Every. Single. Day. I love you to the moon and back.
