August was a wonderful month!

August came and went really fast! It was a busy month with Piper starting daycare, turning 6 months old, sitting up, and cutting her first tooth (that, not so much fun).

My friend, Kayla, took some amazing 6 month pictures of Piper and our family. I absolutely love how they turned out!

We had a 'stay-cation' at Gigi and Pappy's house on August 23rd weekend. It was fun to get to spend some quality time with G's family. Piper loves her Uncle Tony!!

The ALS ice bucket challenge took off this year and has raised more than $14 million to date. Piper and I decided to take the challenge from the Long's Drugs in Charlotte and add a special twist with a Flour Bomb for SMA awareness. We obviously did it in honor of our sweet friend, Leo Bugenske. Piper was a trooper and enjoyed her first shower with momma afterwards. We also made a donation to SMA.
The gamecocks had their season opener on Thursday, August 28th against Texas A&M. While the outcome of the game wasn't very good, it sure was fun to dress up our sweet girl and to also enjoy a night out (with a babysitter!! Thanks, KatBird).

August also officially kicked off Gina's wedding celebrations. She will be getting married to Javi on November 15th in Atlanta. We are absolutely thrilled for them and I'm so excited to start celebrating this awesome couple.

Piper- you continue to put a smile on my face every single day. You are such a good little girl and Daddy and I want to thank you for being such a great sleeper (because that's worth repeating). We love you to the moon and back again.
