Pinehurst and Father's Day and other fun firsts

We went to the US Open golf tournament June 9th-June 15th which was held in Pinehurst, NC. Last year I gave Grant 2 week-long tickets for his birthday (June 20th) so we rented a house close to the course, invited Birdie and Bogey and we had an amazing week of golf, relaxing, porch rocking, mimosas, people watching, shopping, and family time. It was so nice to spend some quality time with Piper since I feel like since returning to work our time together is few and far between and when it does happen, its tough for me to relax and be in the moment with her. It was great to have Birdie and Bogey there with us all week. They aren't just more hands, but they are so fun and we are so thankful for their help and companionship.
Our one night that we went 'out' in Pinehurst we found ourselves at the Pine Crest Inn for a cocktail. We had such a good time enjoying downtown Pinehurst. And Piper did great. She was such a trooper throughout the days and nights. She slept in our closet in a pack 'n play and slept until 8 or 9 every morning.
(THANK YOU. sweet girl)

Daddy came up a day earlier than us so that I could work and he could enjoy Monday with his friend Patrick. He was so excited about finding this sweet outfit for his best girl!

Taking a break from the course in downtown Pinehurst for lunch. We were lucky enough to find parking in the town each day so that we didn't have to worry about shuttling into the tournament. It was about a 10 minute walk from the cute town to the gate and I was excited about being able to go back to the car and pump and do other baby things. Thank goodness for the B.O.B. stroller. It helped us get to and from the tournament as well as throughout the course.

We had so much great family time. Made me very thankful that I took this week away from work to focus on Grant and Piper and me!

We went to The Carolina Hotel at the Pinehurst Resort just about every day for either a mimosa before going into the tournament or an after-tournament snack. This is where all of the players stayed and we saw a good few including Rory McIroy. Piper was the life of the party and everyone wanted to say 'hey' to her. We ate here on Tuesday night and saw many golfers in the dining room with us including Jordan Speith, Justin Rose, and Goeff Ogilvy. I can't wait to go back when it's not so crowded and enjoy their spa!

TWINS! Piper enjoys watching golf. Seriously, she will just sit there and watch. I think she loves the green grass because she now feels the same way about the World Cup. She turned 4 months while we were there so I tried to snap some 'birthday' pictures of our sweet girl.

We had visitors all week come and stay with us in our house since nearby accommodations were hard to come by. We had Patrick Townes, Chris Barnes and Vaughan Dozier, Blake Buchanan and Thomas Ryan, and Ruthie and Lawrence Taylor all come and stay throughout the week. Piper's sitter this summer is KatBird (Katharyn Taylor) and is the daughter of mom's good friend. It was fun to spend time with them and let KatBird's parents get to know Piper too.
Sunday of the US Open was Father's Day and what a Father's Day it was! Grant seriously deserved every bit of what Piper and I try to spoil him with for his first Father's Day. More than anything, he appreciated the time we all got to spend as a family. It was great to spend the day with Charlie and celebrate how great of a step-father and 'Bogey' he is to his grandkids!! Ashley, Ben, Brady, and Avery made a day trip on Sunday to join us. It was a great day and we are so thankful for Grant and how much he loves this sweet girl.

We had to celebrate Father's Day with my dad and Grant's dad on other days, but we celebrated nonetheless and Piper makes them both smile so big that it warms my heart so! She also got to visit with 'GG'...Grant's Granny (this is quite a bit earlier but wanted to make sure we include).

Piper Grace- you have so many people who love you and love spending time with you.
