Bless the Lord, Oh my soul

This video epitomizes this beautiful child of mine. I love it so, so much. And I love how much she loves her Daddy. (He is the only one that has been able to make her laugh like this. Twice.)

I thank the Lord every single day for our amazing blessing. PG- we will always love laughing with you!

Happy 2 months (10 days late)

Happy 2 months to my Smileypants!!!

I am officially no good at getting the timing right, but as long as it's within the month I'm good, right? (please note: also not good at commas. That's why I'm a pharmacist. Math and science, yall)

Piper turned 2 months old on April 13th which was Sunday while we were in Myrtle Beach for the Hootie and the Blowfish Monday After the Masters (aka: MAM). I was going to write a blog post while we were there but our condo didn't have Wi-fi. I know, who doesn't have Wi-fi? Right, Courtney? Either way, we were too busy celebrating with some of our favorite people to worry about a timely blog post.

April 13, 2014- 2 months old (before church)

April 23, 2014- 10 days late.

This picture was taken at the doctor's office at her 2 month appointment. Another excuse for why I'm late posting. Today Piper officially became my favorite 'Chunky Monkey' or 'Monk-Monk' as I call her. She is also very long....I'm dealing with the fact that she is going to be taller than me. 

24.5 inches long- 99th percentile

12lb 2oz- 69th percentile

We can officially drop a feeding now and go to 7 feedings per day with no supplementing. What a relief for me and all of the bottle washing! She also received 3 shots and 1 oral vaccination today. She took them like a champ. Daddy came to the appointment to help me get through the shots. Piper has run a slight fever today, but hasn't been too fussy. 

Our 'long girl' (no pun intended) has outgrown most Newborn outfits and all 0-3 month outfits with feet in them. Packing up her sweet clothes makes me sad and makes me  want another baby girl ASAP.

Kayla is coming this Friday to snap some pictures of our 2 month old so beware of picture overload.

Playing catch up

I've had every intention of 'blogging' some of the fun things going on with Piper, but you see how well that has gone. Here is my attempt to catch up:

On March 26th, we took our best friend Julie lunch and visited with her at her brand new fabulous house. We had so much fun and I think Piper even liked Laine. Anyone who knows me knows that I don't really care for pets. There is no chance that Piper will even want a pet, but in case she does she can go visit Aunt Julie anytime!

March 27-28 we took a quick trip down to Rimini with Mom and Charlie. It was our first night away from our house and everyone did great! Piper got her 'measuring stick' to be hung beside her cousin's on the porch of the outdoor cabin. Unofficial mearsurement = 23inches. She seemed pretty excited about it. She was NOT excited about tummy time.

Grant is a Big Brother through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. He and LaBruce have been together for over 7 years and Grant believes in this program so much that he now serves on the board. Piper and I are so proud of him that we went and supported he and the Greater Columbia program at their annual fundraiser, Bowl-a-thon, on March 29th. Piper did great in the Baby Bjorn! 

We decided to go cheer on the Gamecock baseball team on Sunday, March 30th and enjoyed spending time with Gma and Gpa.

 On March 31st we finally have a 10 pounder! Weight gain has been steady at 1+ oz per day so we are moving in the right direction. Grant and I were so, so very excited to see those double digits!

Celebrating with Aunt Courtney! 

My BABY turned 7 weeks old on April 3rd. I love her sweet expressions and how alert she is! And I'm a sucker for a baby in a onesie!

There are so many wonderful 'firsts' that we continue to celebrate each day! Piper is such a joy to me and Grant. We thank God every day for our sweet miracle. 

Piper's cousin, Avery, loves her so much! She loves having a real life baby doll. We enjoyed a great weekend with both Avery and Brady down in Rimini April 5-6. Avery is such a great helper!
